My old iPod Nano came back to life after a freezer trick I saw online

I had a 4th gen iPod Nano that just wouldn't turn on, no matter what button I pressed. The battery was totally dead, and I was ready to toss it. Then I saw a random comment on a forum about putting it in a sealed bag and leaving it in the freezer overnight. I figured I had nothing to lose, so I tried it. After about 8 hours, I took it out, let it warm up for an hour, and plugged it in. The charging symbol actually popped up. It's been playing music for three days now. I think the cold might have shocked the old battery just enough to take a charge again. Has anyone else tried something this weird on a gadget that was basically a brick?

Honestly that freezer trick is wild. I tried it on an old phone once and it actually worked for like a week before it died for good. Tbh I think the cold just makes the battery contract a little and maybe fixes a bad connection inside. Ngl it feels like a total gamble, but when you're about to throw something out, why not give it a shot.

Did you seal the phone in a bag before putting it in the freezer? I've heard that's a big deal because the moisture can wreck it worse than the cold helps. Letting it warm up slowly on the counter seems important too, so you don't get condensation inside. I'm just curious if those steps make the trick work better or if it's all just random luck.
