PSA: My neighbor's comment about his 1998 iMac made me rethink 'obsolete'
He said 'it just needed a $15 IDE to SD card adapter to boot again,' which is way cheaper than a new computer. Has anyone else brought an old machine back with a simple adapter like that?

Saw a video where someone did that exact swap on an old G4 Mac. They used a cheap IDE to Compact Flash adapter instead of SD, same idea. It's crazy how a dead hard drive is the only thing stopping a lot of these old machines. What other old tech could be saved with one cheap part?
