Just realized how much yard sale prices have climbed since I started flipping 8 years ago
I was talking to this older guy at an estate sale last Saturday in Des Moines, and he said he remembered when you could get a full set of Pyrex bowls for $5, now people want $40 for a single dish. It hit me different because back then I was thrilled to flip anything for a $10 profit, but now I have to carefully pick items just to break even on fees, you know? Any of you noticing the same in your area or is it just me?

Whoa, hold up. I get what you're saying but I feel like people exaggerate how bad it is right now. Prices go up everywhere, it's just inflation and the whole reselling thing getting more popular. Yeah, Pyrex is pricier but you can still find deals if you're not picky about patterns or condition. I've grabbed decent stuff at church sales for cheap just last month. It's not like the whole hobby is dead or anything, just takes a little more patience now.

Unless you're after the butterprint stuff, it's just the new normal.

OH MAN, ok but I gotta push back a little. You say you grabbed stuff cheap at church sales last month, but were those actually VINTAGE Pyrex or just newer stuff that looks old? Because I feel like the "deals" people brag about now are either scratched up pieces from the 90s or they just got lucky at one random sale. How many times have you actually found a full set of something pre-70s for under twenty bucks in the last year?
