Honestly, I saw a guy in Phoenix try to lay a whole room of LVP without leaving a single expansion gap. Not one. It's gonna buckle in a month.

Gonna buckle in a month" seems like a big assumption. I've seen plenty of DIY jobs skip the gap in dry climates and they hold up just fine for years. People worry too much about perfect rules.
