My neighbor's basement floor went from wavy to flat in a weekend
He had a big dip in his slab, maybe an inch deep over 4 feet. We used a self-leveling compound I picked up from the local supply house, and the difference after it set was crazy. Anyone have a go-to brand for that stuff on really uneven concrete?

That stuff is a game changer for sure. We had a similar low spot in our garage floor and used a bag of LevelQuik RS. Mixed it pretty thin, poured it out, and it just flowed right into the dip. It was bone dry and ready for a coat of paint in about a day.

Honestly I tried that once and it ended up a total mess because I mixed it way too thick. Tbh it just sat there in a lump and I had to chip it all out. Never making that mistake again.

My buddy Mark tried the same thing last year and it turned into a disaster. He used some leftover bag of self-leveler from his basement job and didn't read the instructions again. Ended up with this gooey pile that set up like concrete pudding. He spent an afternoon with a hammer and chisel trying to knock it out of the corner where it pooled. He said the worst part was the dust got everywhere and he had to wear a mask for two days. He still brings it up whenever anyone mentions fixing a floor.
