My aunt told me to never use carnations in a wedding bouquet

She said they were cheap filler flowers. I used them anyway for a small June wedding in Springfield. The bride loved the pink ones mixed with roses. It saved the couple almost 200 dollars on their order. Anyone else find a flower gets a bad rap it doesn't deserve?

Totally agree. Did my cousin's bouquet with carnations and baby's breath. Looked amazing and held up all day in the heat.

Actually, carnations last way longer than roses in a bouquet. They aren't just cheap filler, they're practical. Your aunt's rule is pretty outdated.

Remember reading that carnations got a bad rep from being used in cheap funeral sprays. @the_rose is right, they're super tough flowers. Makes that old rule seem even sillier.
