Switched from wrapped ribbon to paper tape for bouquets a month ago

I used to think wrapped ribbon was the only professional way to finish bouquets... but I kept having issues with it slipping on stems with a lot of sap. A customer last Valentine's Day specifically asked for paper tape cause she said it stayed tighter longer. Tried it on maybe 20 arrangements since then and honestly it's way faster and holds up better in the cooler. Has anyone else made the switch or do you stick with ribbon for the look?

Last November I did a wedding with 45 centerpieces using eucalyptus and dusty miller, both super sappy stems. Ribbon was a nightmare, unrolling and sliding everywhere by the time we got to the venue. Swapped to paper tape for all of them and it held solid through a 4 hour reception. I did add a little twine bow over the tape for the look, so nobody really noticed the switch.

Paper tape handles wet stems way better. That sap issue is real.
