Vent: My bouquets kept wilting fast and a bride in Austin finally asked if I was using tap water.

I was, and the chlorine was killing them. Switched to filtered and they last twice as long now. Anyone else have a simple fix that made a huge difference?

But isn't tap water fine for most places? Seems like extra work for maybe no reason.

Have you ever tested what's actually coming out of your tap? I had a friend in the suburbs who swore her water was fine, then she got a basic test kit from the hardware store and found out the pH was off the charts alkaline. I think a lot of people are in the same boat without realizing it. Your mileage may vary for sure, but I've seen way too many perfectly good houseplants go downhill from tap water that seemed okay. Just something to consider before you blame yourself for a plant not thriving.

My tap water in Phoenix is basically pool water, so I feel this. I killed a cactus once, which is a special kind of talent.
