Was skeptical about synthetic oil in my old F-150, but here we are
I have a 1999 F-150 with 215,000 miles on it, and for years I only used conventional 10W-30. My buddy who works at a garage in Columbus kept telling me to switch to synthetic, but I figured my truck was too old and it would just leak everywhere. Finally after I had to replace a lifter last spring, I gave in and tried a full synthetic blend. It's been 8 months now and I haven't noticed any new leaks, plus my cold starts in the winter sound a lot smoother. The oil seems to stay cleaner longer between changes too, which I didn't expect. Has anyone else with a high-mileage Ford made the switch and seen a difference?

My 2004 Silverado with 190k was the same way. I waited forever to switch because I thought it'd start pouring oil everywhere. Finally did it two years ago and honestly the engine just runs smoother now. No leaks or anything.

Same here @kevin_bailey, mine runs way better after switching at 175k with no leaks.
