I was wrong about 'Glover' on the N64. A busted controller made me see it differently.

A GameCube controller with a lazily shoved-in third-party rumble pack literally had me hating Super Mario Sunshine for two years, so I totally get this. @reese_perry6 hit the nail on the head - worn gear messes with everything from timing to feel, and we don't even realize it half the time.

My buddy had a similar thing happen with his old Dreamcast. He spent years hating a certain racing game, calling it slippery and broken. Turns out his analog stick had a massive dead zone he never noticed. Borrowed a fresh controller from another friend and it was like a whole new game. He felt pretty silly after all that complaining. Makes you wonder how many games we've judged unfairly because of worn out gear.
