Overheard a guy at the game store say something that got me worried
I was in line at a local shop in Tacoma last Friday, and the guy ahead of me was asking for a copy of 'Vexx' for the original Xbox. The clerk said they hadn't seen one in over a year and that the online prices are getting nuts. It hit me that if even the people who work with old games can't find them, how many are just gone for good? Has anyone else had a game they wanted just vanish from the market?

Wait, did you say Vexx? That game was a total hidden gem, I remember renting it from Blockbuster like three times. It's wild to think a whole Xbox game could just disappear like that. Makes me wonder what else is rotting in landfills or sitting in attics, completely forgotten. I bet there are tons of games from that era that are basically gone for good now.

Renting it three times is a serious commitment, @tyler614 (my copy was a birthday present I begged for, and I still got stuck in that water temple forever). It really makes you realize how much stuff from that time is just... gone, you know? My own attic probably has a few forgotten gems buried under old school projects (which is a scary thought). The idea of games just vanishing because the discs are rotting somewhere is a real bummer.

What even is disc rot? No, seriously. @abby_king22, you're right though, it's a huge bummer. I had a whole stack of PS1 games that just stopped working one day. They looked fine but the console wouldn't read them. Feels like losing a piece of your own history, and there's no cloud save for that.
