Vent: Found a dusty copy of 'Blinx: The Time Sweeper' at a Goodwill in Spokane and the cashier asked if it was a bootleg...

I told her it was a real Xbox game about a cat with a vacuum cleaner that controls time, and she just stared at me like I'd grown a second head.

That "blank stare" reaction is the best part, honestly. It's like a little test to see who gets it. Campbell.logan's friend with Katamari had it right, you're describing pure, beautiful nonsense to someone just trying to get through their shift. The real hidden gem is finding the one clerk who lights up and goes, "wait, the cat does WHAT?" That's a rare drop.

My buddy tried to explain Katamari Damacy to a clerk once, same blank stare.

Actually I used to roll my eyes at people who acted like that blank stare was some kind of badge of honor... but honestly this thread has kind of changed my mind. It's not about being elitist or whatever, it's just that some games are so weird they break people's brains a little. When you're trying to explain something like Katamari or even something like the Goose Game to someone who's never heard of it, you can literally see their smile freeze and their eyes go distant. I used to get embarrassed and rush through the explanation but now I think that moment is actually kind of magical. It means you're sharing something that doesn't fit into the normal box of what a video game is supposed to be. And yeah, that rare clerk who gets it is like finding a shiny Pokemon in the wild.
