Choosing between a book club and a D&D group turned into a found family thing
I had to pick between joining a serious book club at the library or a friend's chaotic D&D campaign. I went with the D&D group, and after six months, my character's fake uncle, a guy named Greg who runs a tavern, has given me more life advice than my real relatives. Has anyone else found their people in a totally unexpected place like that?
Right? @olivia478, I almost bailed on a board game night that looked super lame. Now I'm stuck with those weirdos every Tuesday, and we argue about the rules for hours. It's the best.
Right? The best stuff comes from the stuff you almost skip. My whole group now came from a D&D night I only went to for the free pizza... now we've been fighting over house rules for three years straight. It's the best kind of mess.
