My neighbor said my driftwood sculptures were 'just cleaning up the beach, not making art'. It made me think about where the line is.

Saw some artist online say that if it makes you feel something or see something different, it's art. Your neighbor's just being salty for no reason.

Your neighbor sounds like the type who thinks a sunset is just the sun going down for the night lol. Art is whatever makes you stop and look.

Honestly, that neighbor logic is so weird when you flip it. If a sunset is just the sun going down, then a painting is just some paint on a wall. But we all know it's not. The whole point is the feeling it gives you. So why do people try so hard to make simple things sound boring? It's like they're scared to just admit something is nice to look at.
