PSA: My driftwood sculpture fell apart at the craft fair in Boise

The hot glue gave out after 4 hours, so I had to wire it back together with some old fishing line from my truck. Anyone got a better way to attach smooth river stones to wood?

Try two-part epoxy next time... holds forever.

What kind of two-part epoxy did you actually use? I've had some brands fail on porous surfaces like stone if I didn't rough up the spot first. Did you sand the contact areas at all before gluing?

The_val is spot on about roughing up the surface first. My buddy tried gluing river rocks onto a wooden sign for his Etsy shop and the whole thing fell apart on day one. He ended up drilling shallow holes into the stones with a masonry bit and filling them with epoxy before pressing them into the wood, and that finally held through a whole summer of outdoor shows.
