Rushing the sand mix left us with a cracked casting
I didn't let it cure long enough before the pour. Now we have to redo the whole core box.

Rushing the process usually turns out fine. Maybe the problem was something else, like the sand quality.

In my experience, rushing the cure often works if the sand mix is good. Could be a temperature swing or a mold flaw instead.

People forget how much the humidity in the room can mess with a cure. If the air is too dry, it pulls moisture from the mix too fast and causes stress cracks. A good sand mix can still fail if the environment isn't right. It's a factor that's easy to overlook when you're checking temperature and mold quality.
