Just realized I've mixed over 100 different ink shades in the last year
It hit me when I logged my latest batch, a dusty purple from blending a Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-budo with a touch of Noodler's Black. Back when I started, I was just trying to fix a too-wet blue. Now I have a whole shelf of tiny bottles, each with a date and a recipe card. Anyone else keep track and get surprised by how many you've made?

It's funny how a small fix can turn into a whole system. I see that everywhere now, people making little spreadsheets for their coffee beans or plant watering.

That's a cool hobby, but just a heads up, mixing Noodler's inks can be tricky sometimes (they have weird chemistry). Logging everything is smart though, I'd be lost without notes. A whole shelf of custom colors sounds like a great problem to have.

Yeah, honestly I used to roll my eyes at people who logged this stuff. Felt like overkill for a hobby you do for fun. But then I ruined a whole batch of ink mixing two Noodler's colors that I guess had some weird reaction and it turned into this sludge mess. That was like $30 down the drain and I had nothing to show for it. Now I keep a notebook with ratios and dates and it's saved me from doing that again. So yeah, you hit the nail on the head about the weird chemistry thing.
