Looking back at my first ink mix from three years ago in my old apartment

I found the notebook where I wrote down my first try, a simple mix of 3 parts Waterman Serenity Blue to 1 part a basic black I got in Portland. Last month, I tried to make it again and it came out totally different, maybe because the black ink formula changed. Has anyone else had an old recipe just stop working like that?

Three years ago you wrote it down in a notebook, that's the real shocker for me. My old mixes are lost to memory, so hats off to you for keeping notes. Unab35 getting a better purple is wild luck.

Ever notice how even the simplest things change over time without us realizing? It's like trying to recreate a favorite meal from memory and the spices just don't taste the same. Makes you wonder what else has quietly shifted.

Actually had the opposite happen... my old purple mix got better after the black ink changed. Sometimes the shift works out.
