My barista asked if my purple ink was from a specific brand, and I told her I mixed it myself.
She said 'Oh, so you're like a kitchen chemist for pens,' and that phrase just stuck with me all week. Has anyone else had a normal chat that reframed how you see this hobby?

Yeah, kitchen chemist makes it sound way cooler than it is. I'm mostly just making a mess with pipettes and praying I don't stain the countertop again. Elizabetht56 has a point about it being a recipe, but my "recipes" usually end up looking like a failed potion from a kids' show. Last week I tried to make a teal and ended up with something closer to swamp water.

Kitchen chemist" is a fun way to put it, though I'd call it more of a careful recipe than a chemistry experiment.
