My 'vintage' ink bottle turned out to be a total disaster
I found this cool old bottle at a flea market in Austin, cleaned it out, and filled it with a custom purple mix I call 'Grape Nebula'. The cap looked fine, but it must have been cracked because the whole thing leaked in my bag on the flight home. My favorite notebook is now a tie-dyed mess. Has anyone else had a container fail on them mid-travel?

Actually think the pressure change thing is a total myth people use to explain bad packing. That bottle was probably already cracked from being old and jostled around at the flea market. Flying with ink is fine if you put it in a zip bag and wrap it in a shirt, the real problem is trusting antique glass to hold up. Your notebook was doomed the second you put that bottle in your bag, flight or no flight.

Wait, did you fly with a bottle full of ink in your carry-on? I thought you had to put any liquids over a certain amount in checked bags. I lost a nice bottle of cologne that way once, the pressure change can make even a good seal fail.

Oh man, that's rough! I guess my ink bottle got lucky, or maybe TSA just didn't care that day lol. Sorry about your cologne, that's a brutal way to learn the lesson.
