Showerthought: The dish soap in ink trend has me scratching my head

I've seen a big jump in people here saying to add a drop of dish soap to ink mixes for better flow. It's like every new recipe thread has this tip now. But honestly, I'm pretty confused about if this is a smart move for our pens. Take one post where someone mixed soap into a red ink and it worked fine for a day. Then their pen started skipping and needed a deep clean. It feels like we might be fixing one problem but causing another. Is there any real proof this won't gunk up feeds over time, or are we just hoping for the best?

Totally, I made my ink bubble like soda with just a bit extra.

That red ink example sounds like they used too much. A tiny, tiny drop on a toothpick mixed into a whole bottle is the trick, not a direct drop from the bottle. Too much will definitely cause problems.

Saw a forum post where someone ruined a whole batch of black ink with one big drop of red. The color turned muddy and the ink never flowed right after that. Less is always more when mixing.
