Bought a fancy word tile organizer, ended up donating it and going back to cookie sheets

The rack looked nice in the photo but the grooves were too shallow for the thicker tiles from the classic kit, so half my words kept ending up upside down on the floor. After dropping $45 on it last month, I finally passed it to a thrift store and went back to a flat metal sheet I already had. The sheet lets me spread out all 300 tiles at once and spot combos way faster than shuffling through tiny slots. What's the weirdest surface you've found that actually works better than the stuff marketed for this hobby?
