PSA: I thought those 'smart' air purifiers were just overpriced fans, but the one I got for my apartment in Chicago actually cleared up my partner's allergies in under a week.
The app showed a huge spike in particulates every time our old dog shook himself, which convinced me the sensor data was legit and not just a gimmick, so has anyone else found a gadget they doubted that actually delivered on its promise?

That pink noise thing @elizabethg53 mentioned never did a thing for me.

I was the same way, totally wrote it off. Then I tried it for a week and actually noticed a difference. Might be worth another shot.

Remember those sleep sound machines that just play nature noises? My buddy swore his was a glorified white noise box until his baby started sleeping through the night. Turns out the specific "pink noise" setting it had actually worked, and he said the difference was crazy. He went from skeptic to a total convert over one decent week of sleep.
