Update: The battery life on my old e-reader went from 2 days to 2 weeks

I have this e-reader I got back in 2019, and for years I was charging it every other day. I finally did a full factory reset last month after a software update. Now the same device holds a charge for almost fourteen days with the same daily use. It makes me wonder how much old apps and cached data were draining it in the background. Has anyone else seen a huge jump in battery life just from resetting an old gadget?

Yeah but isn't that kinda crazy that we all just let our gadgets get clogged up with years of junk? I did the same thing to an old laptop last year and it went from taking five minutes to boot to like thirty seconds. All those leftover app caches and half finished downloads just sitting there eating up power. People forget that software rot is real and it hits batteries hard.

Wait, so a factory reset basically gave you a new battery? That's wild. Makes me wanna try it on my old phone.

My buddy did a full reset on his old tablet and it was like a new device, battery lasted forever after that. He said it was full of junk from years of updates.
