My band's DIY light show almost set the stage on fire

We used Christmas lights and a fog machine for ambiance. Now I'm learning basic electrical safety before our next show.

Christmas lights and fog machines are a classic fire combo. Grab a fused power strip next time, stops things from melting. Learned that after my own near miss with some cheap LEDs.

Yikes, mixing Christmas lights with a fog machine sounds like a holiday disaster movie waiting to happen. That's basically building a small fire starter kit and calling it decor. I can just picture the sparks and smoke making a new kind of festive atmosphere. Honestly, the fused power strip advice is the only smart thing standing between that setup and the fire department showing up. Next step is probably just hanging up some oily rags for complete effect.
