Spotted a move in my local indie scene: artists are prioritizing playlist features in cafes over club gigs for early buzz.

Used to think club gigs were everything, but this cafe playlist strategy changed my perspective.

So what's the real metric for success with cafe playlists? Club gigs give immediate feedback from the audience. Playlists might get more repeat exposure but less direct engagement. Are artists seeing actual follower spikes or just ambient plays? Seems like a trade-off between quality and quantity of attention.

Cafe playlists are brilliant for building that early buzz! My friend's band got featured in three local spots and their streaming numbers doubled in a month. As @kelly_west45 mentioned, this strategy really changes your view on what works. Playlists offer constant exposure to a captive audience who might not seek out new music actively. Club gigs are fantastic for live energy, but playlists work silently in the background, turning casual listeners into fans. That ambient play can lead to real follower spikes when people Shazam tracks or search later!
