Confronting my fear of dietary cholesterol (with actual nutrition facts) led to a surprising health boost.
Eating two eggs daily lowered my LDL while raising HDL, contradicting outdated advice.

What about those with familial hypercholesterolemia?

That outdated advice about eggs and cholesterol really did stick around forever, didn't it? The 2015 dietary guidelines finally dropped the cholesterol limit because the science was so clear it wasn't a nutrient of concern. It's wild how long it takes for official recommendations to catch up to what the data actually shows.

Didn't you used to worry about eating too many eggs? I totally cut them out for years because I bought into the cholesterol scare. Then I read about the updated dietary guidelines and all the studies showing dietary cholesterol doesn't impact blood cholesterol much for most people. It's honestly liberating to enjoy breakfast again without guilt! The lag between science and public advice is so frustrating though.
