Landlord in Houston tried to charge me for pre-existing cracks, my photo walkthrough saved $450
I moved into this place in Houston last June and did a FULL video walkthrough with timestamps on my doorframe cracks and chipped tile. When I moved out in March, the landlord tried to hit me with a $450 repair bill for "new damage" that was clearly the SAME cracks from day one. I pulled up the video on my laptop during the walkout and played it side by side with his photos, he got real quiet real fast. His own property manager ended up waiving the whole charge because my video showed the dates in the corner. I only did that because my buddy got burned the year before with no photo proof and lost his whole deposit. Does anyone else keep walkthrough videos even if the place looks fine, or am I just paranoid?
