I visited a tech expo in Austin and saw a demo where an AI wrote a full news article in 30 seconds, but honestly, does speed mean it's actually good?
The article it produced on the spot about local politics was factually correct but had the personality of a cardboard box, which makes me question if we're prioritizing the wrong metrics for these writing tools.

So what's the big deal if it's boring? Most news articles are already dry as toast. If it gets the facts right and frees up a reporter's time, maybe they can go find a better story. We're not exactly losing great art here, it's just city council meeting notes.
