Just realized I trained 1,000 images for an AI model and it was a huge mistake

I spent last weekend feeding 1,000 product photos into an AI training tool for my online store. After 12 hours of processing, the model came out terrible because half the images had different lighting and backgrounds. It kept mixing up my blue widgets with the red ones since the data was all over the place. I should have started with just 50 clean, labeled photos and tested small batches first. Has anyone else wasted time on bad data sets like this?

Bruh that's rough, but honestly the real mistake was not checking for consistency first. I've messed up similar projects where I threw in photos from different seasons and lighting setups and the AI got totally confused. Like one time my model kept thinking a dark blue shirt was black just because of bad shadows. You gotta normalize everything before you train or the AI learns the wrong patterns entirely.

No kidding man, same thing happened to me with a dog breed model. Threw in some pictures from a cloudy day and others in bright sun and it kept misidentifying golden retrievers. Had to scrap the whole first batch and start over with just indoor shots.
