That AI writing assistant I tried kept inserting fake quotes from sources that don't exist
I used an AI tool for a blog post about climate data last week and it made up three whole quotes from a researcher who literally never said those things, and if you are relying on these tools for fact checking you are going to get burned, has anyone else caught their AI inventing stuff like this?

Caught mine doing the same thing with a local news story it completely fabricated. Always double check everything these things spit out.

Hold on, I don't think that's quite right. Fabricating a whole local news story sounds more like a bug than just a regular mistake.
