Tried that AI note taker for my team meetings and now I'm honestly weirded out
Ngl, I gave Otter AI a shot for our weekly standups at my job in Austin. Figured it'd just grab keywords or whatever. But last Thursday it caught my coworker mumbling 'I guess the deadline is fine' and then flagged it as a risk item in the summary. I didn't even hear him say that live. Now the boss wants us to use it for every meeting. Has anyone else had one of these tools pick up something you totally missed and turn it into a action item?

I saw a piece in Wired about how these tools are picking up stuff we don't even register in real time... it's kind of creepy when you think about it. Makes you wonder what else they're catching in those long pauses and side comments.

Yeah that's the part that gets me too. It's not just catching the obvious stuff, it's the tone and the throwaway lines that people don't even mean. Like your coworker probably just said that to move the meeting along, but now the AI is treating it like a deadline warning. Have you gone back and listened to the raw audio of what it flagged? I'd be curious if the AI is actually hearing something real or just reading way too much into a casual comment. Because if it's flagging stuff nobody in the room even registered as important, then you're basically letting a bot decide what matters in your conversations. Is that really a risk you want your boss acting on without you having a say in it?
