Was dead wrong about AI video generators

I thought AI video was all hype until I needed a quick explainer for a client demo last Tuesday. Ran a script through RunwayML and got something usable in 20 minutes. No actors, no editing, just a prompt and some tweaks. Anyone else surprised by how far these tools have come?

Close but not quite right. RunwayML launched their Gen-1 back in early 2023. The real jump happened with Gen-2 in mid 2023. Those early versions were rough though. Your 20 minute turnaround sounds more like Gen-3 Alpha. That came out last year. The big leap was when they added consistent character control. Still glitchy with hands and faces sometimes. But yeah, way better than most people expect.

Wait, Gen-1 was 2023? I thought this stuff was like a year old max. Had no idea they been working on it that long. Guess I was sleeping on it harder than I thought.
