Finally tried preheating my air fryer for 5 minutes before cooking fries
Honestly, I always just tossed frozen fries in cold and wondered why they came out soggy. Did 5 minutes at 400F first and they came out crispy in 12 minutes flat, anyone else skip this step forever too?

Oh man, the "toss frozen fries in cold" crew, that was me for way too long. I used to get so frustrated wondering why they were either soggy or burnt on the outside. Preheating for 5 minutes at 400F is a game changer, honestly I tried it last week and my fries came out exactly like the ones from a diner. Did you notice how the texture stays crispy even after they cool down a bit? That's the biggest win for me. I even started doing the same thing for tater tots and onion rings, and it works just as good.

It's funny how little things like preheating change so much once you know better.
