Serious question, did anyone else fall for the 'air fryer makes everything crispy' hype?

I tried making grilled cheese in mine last week and it came out looking like a sad, puffy pillow with burnt edges. Has anyone else found something that just does NOT work in an air fryer?

Did you try preheating it first or just toss it in cold?

just toss it in cold" ... I mean come on, @jamiesingh, is this really something that needs a whole thread? I preheat my oven maybe half the time and the other half I just throw stuff in and it comes out fine. Like, have you ever actually ruined a dish by not preheating? I've made cookies, frozen pizzas, even roasted veggies cold start and they turned out alright. Seems like one of those things people get way too worked up about honestly.
