Watch out for the air fryer basket coating peeling off

I spent three weeks wondering why my fries tasted like plastic before I noticed the nonstick coating was flaking into the food. Has anyone else had this happen with a cheaper brand?

read somewhere those plastic fries were actually a health dept training tool for restaurant inspections. kinda creepy looking but smart if true.

Man that stinks! I had the exact same thing happen with a cheap basket I got off Amazon. The coating just started peeling after like 2 months of light use. I didn't even notice at first because I just kept cooking and thought my chicken was tasting weird. Finally saw little black flakes mixed in with my food and freaked out. It's crazy how long you can go without realizing you're eating that stuff.
