I finally cracked the rewatch drought after 15 shows
For the last 6 months I kept starting anime, dropping them by episode 3, then feeling like a fake fan. Turns out I was stuck in a loop of seasonal stuff and never touching my backlog. Last week I decided to rewatch Steins;Gate, and the difference was wild, I caught so many details I missed at 16, like the phone microwave rules and the subtle way Okabe's voice cracks shift. The key was switching from sub to dub on the rewatch, it forced my brain to slow down and notice the background art and character tics. Now I'm working through my 2018 list with that same rule, and I'm actually finishing things. Has anyone else found a specific rewatch style that makes old shows feel new again?
