A random kid in a forum thread changed how I watch old anime

Back around 2019 I was rewatching Cowboy Bebop for the 3rd time and complaining on a forum that nobody makes shows like that anymore. A guy replied and just said "you're watching it wrong, it's not about being cool it's about moving on from stuff." That one line stuck with me for days. I started noticing how every episode is about someone letting go and finding they're alone again. Has anyone else had a random comment completely flip how you see a show?
