Appreciation post: reading anime manga online vs hunting down physical copies at conventions

I used to drive 3 hours to Anime Expo just to find old OVA manga in English, but now I just pull up scans on my phone while sitting on the job site waiting for cement to dry, and honestly I don't miss the back pain from hauling bags of dusty volumes.

Huh, that's a strange take to me honestly lol. I get why people say that but the whole point of getting a deal is the rush you get from finding something valuable that nobody else noticed. Without that, you're just buying normal stuff at normal prices. It's like saying you enjoy hiking but then you only take the paved path with handrails the whole way. Half the fun is sorting through piles of junk to find that one hidden gem.
