I bought a box set for an anime I thought I'd love, and it was a total waste of $120

Everyone online kept saying this show was a deep, classic masterpiece, so I grabbed the special edition. I watched the whole thing, all 26 episodes, and just felt nothing the entire time. The story moved so slow and the characters never clicked for me. Has anyone else spent good money on a highly praised anime that just didn't land?

You watched all 26 episodes? I have to admire your commitment, I would have given up after five if I felt nothing. That's a serious investment of time on top of the money.

My buddy did that with a show last year. He kept hoping it would get good, @richard_wells59, and just never did. Felt bad for him, all those hours gone.
