Just realized most people skip the filler arcs for the wrong reason

I saw a thread saying filler arcs are just time wasters, but I started watching them on my second run of One Piece and found they actually build character depth that the main story rushes past. Has anyone else gone back and found a filler arc that changed how you saw a character?

Filler arcs let the quieter moments breathe in a way the main series can't, which is why characters like Toriyama's supporting cast hit harder on rewatch. It's like seeing the deleted scenes that round out a character's daily life instead of just their crisis mode.

Yeah, that's basically the extended edition of people's lives we never get to see in most shows or even real conversations, isn't it?
