PSA: One line of text changed how I watch subbed anime forever

I was at a con panel last spring in Portland and this guy next to me said 'try reading the subs out loud as they appear.' I laughed it off but tried it during one episode of Frieren. Honest to god it locked my focus so hard I noticed details I'd missed in 3 rewatches. Has anyone else found weird tricks like this that improve your viewing?

Oh man, same here @ninab95! I was totally skeptical about this approach at first, but seeing it broken down like that finally clicked for me. Definitely worth giving it a shot tonight.
