Sat through all of Frieren and then rewatched episode 1, the difference in the animation floored me
I started Frieren back in October when it was airing weekly, and going back to episode 1 last weekend after finishing the season was like watching a different show. The early episodes have these flat backgrounds and stiff crowd shots, but by the arc around episode 12 the studio clearly had more time and money because the lighting and character movement got way smoother. It's the same team the whole way through, so I think it's just a production schedule thing where the first few eps got rushed out. Does anyone know if this is common for shows that air while still being made, or did Frieren just get lucky with a better second half?
