Saw someone argue that English dubs ruin anime and I think they're wrong

I was at a con last Saturday and overheard this guy lecturing his friend about how subs are the only way to watch. But I grew up on Toonami dubs and shows like Cowboy Bebop and Yu Yu Hakusho had amazing voice acting. Has anyone else found a dub that actually made the show better?

Wait, are we seriously acting like the Ghost Stories dub isn't the funniest thing ever made? That thing is a masterpiece of chaos and I will fight anyone who says different. It's literally the only anime I can think of where the voice actors clearly got together and said "let's just troll everybody." So yeah, sometimes localizers going off the rails is the best thing that can happen to a show. I wouldn't want that for every anime obviously, but it's proof the whole "dubs always ruin it" argument is just nonsense.

Three words: Ghost Stories English dub. They completely rewrote it as a comedy and it's way better than the original. Sometimes when the localization team just goes wild it actually works.
