Saw something wild at the Crunchyroll Expo booth

I went to Crunchyroll Expo last weekend in San Jose and stopped by their main stage area. There was this guy cosplaying as Levi from AOT who got into a heated debate with a staff member about the best dubs vs subs. It went on for like 20 minutes and drew a crowd. I was just trying to grab a free tote bag but ended up stuck watching this whole thing. The staff member actually quoted specific episodes from the English dub to prove his point, which I thought was pretty brave. Has anyone else had weird encounters at anime conventions that turned into full debates like that?

Honestly I used to be ALL about subs until I heard that staff member drop specific dub episode quotes that actually held up. That kinda changed my mind about the whole debate.

That staff member actually remembered specific dub episodes well enough to quote them on the spot? I'm not sure I could even do that for my favorite subbed shows.
