Subbed vs dubbed debate is tired, but I switched sides after 3 rewatches

I used to be the guy arguing subs are the only way, then I binged FMA Brotherhood dubbed on a lazy Sunday in Austin and caught way more of the jokes while cooking dinner. Now I think dubs get unfairly dumped on because people cling to old bad dubs from the 90s, not current ones. Anyone else flip their stance after giving a modern dub a real shot, or am I just getting lazy in my 30s?

That first Fullmetal Alchemist watch in 2004 with the original dub was rough, but the Brotherhood redub twenty years later felt like a whole different show. I found myself catching the humor in Ed and Al's banter while doing dishes, which never happened with subtitles because I was too busy reading to actually watch the scene. These days I pick whichever version lets me follow the story best without turning it into homework, and that has nothing to do with getting older.
