That binge-watch weekend I thought would be amazing turned into a total disaster
Last Saturday, I set aside the whole day to finally watch Steins;Gate - everyone says it's a masterpiece. I made popcorn, got comfy, and binged the first 12 episodes straight. By episode 13, I was so confused and frustrated, I almost quit. Turns out I accidentally watched it in the wrong order - went with release order instead of chronological like my friend told me. Spent Sunday re-watching the first half in the right sequence and yeah, it clicked way better. Has anyone else ruined a show by picking the wrong watch order?

Release order is the intended experience. Stick with it.

Starting with a different order makes total sense now (it's like assembling furniture with the wrong instructions first, you know?). Steins;Gate is one of those shows where the payoff comes from trusting the slow build, but release order definitely scrambles the timeline in a way that feels broken until you get the full picture. Chronological order fixes that confusion by letting the story breathe in a straight line before the twists hit you.
