That conversation at the con made me rethink my whole watchlist...
I was talking to this guy in line for the panel last Saturday and he said he skipped 'A Place Further Than the Universe' because the title sounded boring. I told him he was missing out, but then I realized I've been doing the exact same thing with 'Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu' for like 3 years now just because it looks slow. He pointed out that I've probably passed over 10 or 12 shows that could be hidden gems because of quick judgments based on covers or synopsis. It hit different because he was right, I literally spent last weekend rewatching old stuff instead of trying something new. How do you guys decide what to actually give a chance when your queue is full? Has anyone else had a random stranger change how you pick shows?

My buddy skipped Cowboy Bebop for 10 years because he thought the dog was the main character.

The 90s anime boom had a lot of shows with weird English titles, so I can kind of see how someone might get confused. That said, if he actually watched one episode he would see Ein is just a smart corgi who adds comic relief, not the main character. Spike, Jet, Faye, and even Vicious are the ones driving the whole story forward. I bet he regrets all those missed years now because Cowboy Bebop is one of the best anime ever made no matter who the main character is.
