That hyped-up remake everyone swore by, I finally watched it in one sitting

I kept seeing this remake praised everywhere, like every single thread had someone saying it fixed all the problems with the original. My buddy in Chicago wouldn't shut up about it for like 3 weeks straight, so I gave it a shot last Saturday. Around episode 7 of 12, I realized I wasn't even checking my phone anymore, which never happens. The pacing and the voice acting just clicked in a way the old version never did for me. I went from being super skeptical to binging the whole thing by 2am, honestly kind of mad at myself for waiting this long. Has anyone else had that experience where a remake actually earns the hype, or am I just easy to please here?
