A utility worker in Denver taught me a climbing trick I still use
I was trimming a tricky cottonwood near some power lines last summer when a lineman named Dave walked over. He showed me how to use a flipped friction saver to avoid branch hang-ups on the way down. I had been fighting with my rope getting caught for years before that. Has anyone else picked up a solid tip from someone outside the tree world?

Wait, you're telling me a lineman actually walked over and helped you?" - man, I feel that. It's rare to find utility guys who are that chill, so that story honestly makes me happy. Good to know there's still some decent folks out there who just want to help a fellow climber stay safe.

Wait, you're telling me a lineman actually walked over and helped you? I'm shocked, most utility guys I've met would just yell at you to stay back from their lines.
